It is the mission of the Hudson County Office of Victim/Witness Advocacy to support victims and witnesses of crime in Hudson County. This support is provided in the form of information and advocacy in order to help make the involvement of victims and witnesses in the criminal justice system less difficult and burdensome. The Office of Victim/Witness Advocacy ensures that rights are upheld and that victims and witnesses are treated with dignity, compassion and respect as per the New Jersey Crime Victims’ Bill of Rights.
The primary goal in the Office of Victim/Witness Advocacy is to empower victims and the families — or surviving family members — by providing information, advocacy, emotional support and referrals from the trained staff of Victim /Witness Advocates and support personnel.
Bilingual staff members who speak English and Spanish are available.
