Recognizing the link between drugs and violence, the principal mission of Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Task Force is to investigate offenders who engage in organized criminal activity, targeting gang and gun violence, as well as narcotics trafficking.
The Narcotics Task Force investigates middle to upper-level drug targets and major trafficking organizations that often distribute narcotics not only in Hudson County, but also throughout the State, across the United States, and around the world. These complex investigations involve numerous investigative techniques used to identify and pursue members of criminal enterprises from street-level dealers to top suppliers.
All investigative units of the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Task Force regularly work with and assist local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies. In addition, Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Detectives are assigned to the Federal Bureau of Investigation, United States Marshals Service, and the Drug Enforcement Administration.
Assistant Prosecutors assigned to the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Task Force provide legal advice for all investigations involving the Narcotics Task Force, as well as the Gang Task Force. They are also responsible for the criminal prosecution of all actors arrested in connection with the Narcotics Task Force and Gang Task Force’s investigations. In addition, Narcotics Task Force Assistant Prosecutors also assist in the investigation of and prosecution of all non-fatal shootings within Hudson County.

The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Forensic Laboratory is responsible for the intake and analysis of drug evidence from all municipal police departments within Hudson County, as well as the Port Authority Police Department, the Hudson County Sheriff’s Office, and the Office of the Hudson County Prosecutor.
