UNION CITY MAN ARRESTED ON CHARGES HE SEXUALLY ASSAULTED GIRL WHEN SHE WAS BETWEEN THE AGES OF SIX AND NINE

Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez has released the following information:

On Wednesday, September 29, 2021, members of the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit arrested Charles D. Rodriguez, age 51, of Union City, on charges that he sexually assaulted a young girl when she was between the ages of six and nine. The victim, also a Union City resident, is now 13-years-old.

Rodriguez has been charged with Sexual Assault in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:14-2B, a crime of the second degree and Endangering the Welfare of a Child in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4A(1), a crime of the third degree. Rodriguez was arrested at the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office in Jersey City just before 7 p.m. without incident.

Prosecutor Suarez credited the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit for the investigation and arrest.
