PEDESTRIAN SERIOUSLY INJURED IN JERSEY CITY HIT-AND-RUN COLLISION

Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez has released the following information:

The Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit and the Jersey City Police Department are investigating a hit-and-run collision in which a female pedestrian was seriously injured on Friday, February 3, 2023.

Shortly after 8 p.m., the Jersey City Police Department was notified of a pedestrian struck in the area of Martin Luther King Drive and Woodlawn Avenue. Responding officers located a victim – later identified as a 48-year-old Union City woman – with an injury to a lower extremity. The striking vehicle did not remain at the scene. The victim was transported by Emergency Medical Services to Jersey City Medical Center for treatment. The investigation was turned over to the Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit on Saturday, February 4, 2023 after being notified of the severity of the victim’s injuries. She remains hospitalized in stable condition.

The Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit and the Jersey City Police Department are actively investigating this case. No arrests have been made at this time.
