On December 3, 2017, at approximately 12:35 a.m., Jersey City Police Officers responded to a report of shots fired in the area of Martin Luther King Drive and Warner Avenue in Jersey City. Upon arrival, responding officers discovered the lifeless body of Rymaire Stevens, age 28, of Jersey City with apparent gunshot wounds to his torso. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The cause and manner of Stevens’ death are pending an investigation by the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office.

One man suffered from an apparent gunshot wound to his torso and the other man suffered from an apparent gunshot wound to a lower extremity. A fourth man also appeared to have been grazed by a gunshot, but refused medical treatment.
