MAN CHARGED WITH SEX CRIMES ON FOUR PEOPLE AT UNION CITY POOL

Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez has released the following information:

On Sunday, July 3, 2022, members of the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit arrested Ashokbhai Vaddoriya, 40, of Jersey City on charges relating to sex crimes on four individuals at a public pool in Union City. The victims – a 12-year-old girl, an 11-year-old girl, a 33-year-old woman, and a 34-year-old woman – were not known to Vaddoriya.

Vaddoriya is charged with two counts of Sexual Assault by Contact in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:14-2b, crimes of the second degree, two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4a(1), crimes of the third degree, and two counts of Criminal Sexual Contact in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:14-3b, crimes of the fourth degree. He was arrested at the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office in Jersey City and transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility pending his first court appearance. The State has filed a detention motion, which is tentatively scheduled to be heard on Friday, July 8, 2022.

Prosecutor Suarez credited the Special Victims Unit and Union City Police Department with the investigation and arrest.
