Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez released the following information pertaining to the fatal shooting in Jersey City on November 12, 2015. No additional information is available at this time.

Time: Approximately 8:10 pm
Location: Ocean and Winfield Avenues, Jersey City, NJ
Type of Weapon(s): firearm(s)

Victim: Javonte Galbreath, age 19, of Jersey City, New Jersey
On November 12, 2015, at approximately 8:10 p.m., Jersey City Police were dispatched to the area of Ocean and Winfield Avenues in Jersey City on a report of shots fired. Upon arrival, police found the victim on the ground in front of 93 Winfield Avenue with an apparent gunshot wound(s) to the mid-section of his body. The victim was transported to the Jersey City Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at approximately 9:10 p.m.

No arrests have been made in connection with the homicide. A motive has not been identified.
