PUBLIC’S HELP SOUGHT IN IDENTIFYING VEHICLE INVOLVED IN JERSEY CITY HIT-AND-RUN

Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez has released the following information:

The Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the vehicle involved in a hit-and-run crash that seriously injured a pedestrian in Jersey City on Tuesday, December 6, 2022.

At approximately 4:35 p.m., the Jersey City Police Department was notified of a pedestrian struck at the Griffith Street and Sherman Avenue intersection. The striking vehicle fled the scene and the 36-year-old victim was transported to Jersey City Medical Center in critical condition.

A preliminary investigation determined a motorist operating a blue and white Toyota C-HR traveled east on Griffith Street, turned left and traveled north on Sherman Avenue, and then turned right on South Street following the collision. The vehicle was last seen on Palisade Avenue in the area of South Street. The vehicle is described as a compact SUV with a white roof. A photo of the vehicle in question is attached.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Office of the Hudson County Prosecutor at 201-915-1345 or to leave an anonymous tip at: http://www.hudsoncountyprosecutorsofficenj.org/homicide-tip/. All information will be kept confidential.
