PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE HELPS TO HONOR THE NEW JERSEY RESIDENTS WHO LOST THEIR LIVES ON 9/11

Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez has released the following information:

On Saturday, September 8, 2018, the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office will join with numerous other Federal, State, County and Local law enforcement agencies as they participate in the Empty Sky Memorial 5K Run/Walk to be held in Liberty State Park in Jersey City.

The 5K Run/Walk has been organized by the New Jersey 9/11 Memorial Foundation to help raise funds for the completion of the Empty Sky Memorial in Liberty State Park. A 9/11 Memorial Remembrance Ceremony will begin at 9:30 a.m. with Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez participating as one of the guest speakers.

“On Tuesday — as we do every year — we will bow our heads to honor and remember those who lost their lives on Sept. 11, 2001,” said Prosecutor Suarez. “But Saturday’s event is about the resiliency of the American spirit. It is a day of action to help give proper respect to the memory of the residents whose names are engraved on the walls of the Empty Sky Memorial.”

The Empty Sky Memorial 5K Run/Walk is a USATF sanctioned race with age group awards. The race runs along the Hudson River with picturesque views of the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, as well as the Manhattan skyline.
