FATAL SHOOTING OCCURS IN JERSEY CITY ON CLINTON AVENUE

Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez released the following information:

On July 21, 2016, at approximately 2:45 a.m., Jersey City Police were dispatched to Clinton Avenue in Jersey City on a report of shots fired. Upon arrival, police found a male victim, Javon Murray, age 28, of Jersey City, with a single gunshot wound to his upper body. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene at approximately 2:50 a.m.

No arrests have been made in connection with the shooting. The Prosecutor’s Homicide Unit is actively investigating the case with assistance from the Jersey City Police Department.
