DRIVER ARRESTED AFTER HIT-AND-RUN IN HOBOKEN; PEDESTRIAN HOSPITALIZED 

Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez has released the following information:

On Tuesday, April 16, 2019, shortly before 3:00 p.m., Hoboken Police Officers responded to a motor vehicle accident that occurred on 1st and Bloomfield Street in Hoboken. A black Honda Accord fled the scene and then struck a pedestrian in the area of 1st and Hudson streets. Multiple parked vehicles were struck by the Accord before it came to a stop when it struck a building at 99 Hudson Street.

The pedestrian, a 56-year-old male from Brooklyn, was transported by Emergency Medical Services to the Jersey City Medical Center where he is being treated for multiple injuries to his lower extremities. He is currently in stable condition. A second victim, the driver of a vehicle involved in the initial collision at 1st and Bloomfield streets, was treated for minor injuries at the scene.

The driver of the Honda Accord, Oscar Moran, age 66, of Jersey City, was arrested and charged with second-degree Assault by Auto and third-degree Assault by Auto in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:12-1(c), and Driving While Intoxicated, a motor vehicle violation.

The Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit is actively investigating this case with assistance from the Hoboken Police Department.
