CRIMINAL JUSTICE REFORM SEMINAR TO BE GIVEN IN JERSEY CITY

Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez has announced that the Office of the Hudson County Prosecutor and Jersey City Anti-Violence Coalition Movement are hosting a free seminar on Criminal Justice Reform on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at 6 p.m. at Mary McLeod Bethune Life Center in Jersey City.

Criminal Justice Reform was implemented in New Jersey on January 1, 2017 after pioneering legislative changes were made to our Criminal Justice System in 2014.

The informational session will be presented by Deputy First Assistant Prosecutor Peter Stoma of the Office of the Hudson County Prosecutor. Topics to be covered include arrest procedures, charging decisions, speedy trials and the risk assessment procedure which replaces bail procedures.

Mary McLeod Bethune Life Center is located at 140 Martin Luther King Drive in Jersey City. The workshop is free and all residents are invited to attend. Light refreshments will be served.
