COLLISION UNIT INVESTIGATING JERSEY CITY HIT-AND-RUN

Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez has released the following information:

The Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit and the Jersey City Police Department are investigating a hit-and-run crash that seriously injured a pedestrian on Friday, February 10, 2023.

At approximately 7:45 p.m., the Jersey City Police Department was notified of a pedestrian struck in the area of Communipaw Avenue and Kennedy Boulevard. Responding officers located a victim – later identified as a 39-year-old Jersey City woman – with multiple injuries. The striking vehicle did not remain at the scene. The victim was transported by Emergency Medical Services to Jersey City Medical Center where she is listed in critical condition.

During the course of the preliminary investigation, a vehicle of interest was located. The Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit and the Jersey City Police Department are actively investigating this case.
