Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez announced today an arrest in the October 16th fatal shooting of Donald Gadson, age 21.

On October 16, 2015, at approximately 11:25 p.m., Jersey City Police were dispatched to 23 Dales Avenue, Jersey City, New Jersey on a report of male who was shot. Police found Gadson on the ground near the outside entrance of 23 Dales Avenue. Gadson suffered a gunshot wound to his upper body. He was transported to the Jersey City Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at approximately 11:50 p.m.

On January 25, 2016, the Prosecutor’s Homicide Unit arrested Marcus Mair, age 19, of Dales Avenue in Jersey City in connection with the fatal shooting. Mair was charged with Murder in violation of N.J.S. 2C:11-3 and related firearms offenses.

The above charges are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty. R.P.C. 3.6(b)(6).
