APPARENT MURDER-SUICIDE ON SUMMIT AVENUE IN JERSEY CITY

Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez released the following information:

On Tuesday, June 14, 2016, shortly before 7:00 a.m., following a 911 call reporting shots fired, Jersey City Police were dispatched to 908 Summit Avenue in Jersey City. Upon arrival, officers found a husband and wife in the residence with gunshot wounds. They were both pronounced dead at the scene at approximately 7:15 a.m. They were identified as Raymond S. Haddad, age 54, of 908 Summit Avenue, and Monica L. Haddad, age 44, also of that residence. Investigators believe the husband shot his wife and then himself in what appears to be a murder- suicide. A firearm was recovered in the residence.

The Prosecutor’s Homicide Unit is actively investigating the case with assistance from the Jersey City Police Department. The findings of the Medical Examiner are pending.
