JERSEY CITY MAN FATALLY SHOT ON WOODLAWN AVENUE

Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez has released the following information:

On May 9, 2017, at approximately 3:30 p.m., Jersey City Police Officers responded to Woodlawn Avenue on multiple 911 calls of shots being fired in the area. Upon arrival, the responding Police Officers found a lifeless body at 95 Woodlawn Ave. in Jersey City.

The deceased man was identified as Rasheed Raysor, age 19, of Jersey City, who suffered apparent gunshot wounds to the upper torso during the incident. Raysor was pronounced dead at the scene at approximately 3:50 p.m. The cause and manner of his death are pending an investigation by the Medical Examiner.

The Prosecutor’s Homicide Unit is actively investigating the case with assistance from the Jersey City Police Department.
