TWO MEN CHARGED WITH MURDER FOR JUNE FATAL SHOOTING IN JERSEY CITY

Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez has released the following information:

Two men have been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred in Jersey City on Sunday, June 12, 2022.

Quadre Domnie, 21, of Jersey City, and Jekhi Wade, 19, of North Plainfield, are charged with Murder in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:11-3a(1)(2), Conspiracy to Commit Murder in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:5-2a(1)/2C:11-3a, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:39-5b, Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:39-4a, and Receiving Stolen Property in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:20-7. Both were arrested without incident in the evening hours of Monday, July 25, 2022 in the area of Cator Avenue and Rose Avenue in Jersey City. Domnie and Wade are being held at the Hudson County Correctional Facility pending their first court appearances.

On Sunday, June 12, 2022, at approximately 11:15 p.m., the Jersey City Police Department received a report of shots fired in the area Forrest Street and Martin Luther King Drive. An injured male victim of the shooting – later identified as Kyle Howard, 34, of Newark, was privately transported to Jersey City Medical Center. He was pronounced dead at approximately 12:45 a.m. on June 13, 2022.

Prosecutor Suarez credited the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit for the investigation and arrest with the assistance of the Jersey City Police Department.

The above charges are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty. R.P.C.3.6(b)(6)
