SPECIAL VICTIMS UNIT ACTIVELY INVESTIGATING SEXUAL ASSAULT AT HOTEL IN JERSEY CITY

Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez has released the following information:

On Saturday, June 29, 2019, shortly after 4:00 a.m., members of the Jersey City Police Department responded to a report of a sexual assault that occurred at the Courtyard by Marriott located at 540 Washington Blvd. in Jersey City.

Responding police officers found a 21-year-old female from Jersey City who reported that she was sexually assaulted a short time after 2:30 a.m. by an unknown male she met earlier that evening in Newark.

The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit is actively investigating this case with assistance from the Jersey City Police Department. No arrests have been made at this time.
