NEWARK MAN ARRESTED IN CONNECTION WITH 2021 TRIPLE SHOOTING

Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez has released the following information:

On Tuesday, June 21, 2022, members of the United States Marshals Service New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested a Newark man wanted in connection with the 2021 triple shooting that killed Raven Harris and injured two others in Jersey City.

Jimmy Colclough, 31, is charged with Murder in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:11-3a(1), a crime of the first degree; two counts of Attempted Murder in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:5-1a(1) and 2C:11-3a(1), crimes of the first degree; two counts of Unlawful Possession of a Weapon in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35-5b(1), crimes of the second degree; and Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:39-4a(1), a crime of the second degree. He was arrested at a hotel on Paterson Plank Road in Carlstadt and is being held at the Hudson County Correctional Facility pending his first court appearance.

On Wednesday, February 10, 2021, just before 10:00 p.m., members of the Jersey City Police Department responded to a report of shots fired in the area of Old Bergen Road and Neptune Avenue. Responding officers found three shooting victims, a 30-year-old Jersey City woman – later identified as Raven Harris – as well as two male victims, ages 28 and 29.

The three victims were transported by Emergency Medical Services to Jersey City Medical Center. Harris was pronounced dead at approximately 10:30 p.m. The Northern Regional Medical Examiner’s Office determined the cause of death to be Multiple Gunshot Wounds and the manner of death to be Homicide. The two male victims were treated for their injuries and released.

Prosecutor Suarez credited the United States Marshals Service New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force, the HCPO’s Homicide and Gang Intelligence Units, and the Jersey City Police Department with the arrest and investigation. The above charges are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty. R.P.C.3.6(b)(6)
