NARCOTICS TASK FORCE ARRESTS JERSEY CITY MAN

Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez has released the following information:

On May 16, 2017, following a two-day investigation, members of the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Narcotics Task Force arrested a Jersey City man for the possession and distribution of controlled dangerous substances in Jersey City.

Task Force Officers arrested Hasung Christopher Lee, age 28, of Grand Street in Jersey City, and charged him with possession of cocaine, marijuana, liquid THC, N-BOMe oral tabs and Xanax pills with the intent to distribute. Liquid THC is a concentrated form of the active ingredients in marijuana. N-BOMe, commonly referred to as N-bomb, is a hallucinogen.

Lee was arrested after a search of his residence led to the recovery of suspected controlled dangerous substances including more than 900 grams of cocaine, 50 pounds of high-grade marijuana, 1,000 tabs of N-BOMe oral tabs, approximately 200 doses of liquid THC, and more than 100 Xanax pills.

The Task Force also seized approximately $125,000 in United States currency and three vehicles. The street value of the total quantity of narcotics seized is approximately $300,000.

Prosecutor Esther Suarez also credited the Jersey City Police Department for assisting with the arrest.

Lee was charged with the following:

• Possession with Intent to Distribute a Controlled Dangerous Substance (Marijuana) in a quantity of 25 pounds or more in violation of N.J.S. 2C:35-5a and b;
• Possession with Intent to Distribute a Controlled Dangerous Substance (Cocaine) in a quantity of five ounces or more in violation of N.J.S. 2C:35-5a and b;
• Possession with Intent to Distribute a Controlled Dangerous Substance (Liquid THC) in a quantity of one ounce or more in violation of N.J.S. 2C:35-5a and b;
• Possession with Intent to Distribute a Controlled Dangerous Substance (N-BOMe) in a quantity of one ounce or more in violation of N.J.S. 2C:35-5a and b;
• Possession with Intent to Distribute a Controlled Dangerous Substance (Marijuana) in a quantity of more than one ounce but less than five pounds in violation of N.J.S. 2C:35-5a and b;
• Possession with Intent to Distribute a Controlled Dangerous Substance (Xanax) in violation of N.J.S. 2C:35-5a and b;
• Six counts of Possession with Intent to Distribute Controlled Dangerous Substances while within 1000 feet of a school in violation of N.J.S. 2C:35-7;
• Possession with Intent to Distribute a Prescription Drug Legend (Xanax) in a quantity of 100 doses or more in violation of N.J.S. 2C:35-10.5a.
• Money Laundering in violation of N.J.S. 2C:21-25a.

The above charges are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty. R.P.C.3.6(b)(6).
