MAN FATALLY SHOT ON SATURDAY MORNING IN JERSEY CITY

Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez has released the following information:

On November 2, 2019, at approximately 12:30 a.m., members of the Jersey City Police Department responded to a report of shots fired in the area of Bergen and Lexington avenues in Jersey City.

Responding officers did not find a victim at that location, but a male, later identified as Sirheen Walker, age 30, of Jersey City, was found to have been privately transported from that location to Jersey City Medical Center. Walker was pronounced dead at approximately 12:45 a.m. The cause and manner of death are pending the findings of the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office.

The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and the Jersey City Police Department are actively investigating this case. No arrests have been made at this time.
