MAN FATALLY SHOT IN JERSEY CITY ON BIDWELL AVENUE

Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez has released the following information:

On Tuesday, June 26, 2018, at approximately 11:25 p.m., the Jersey City Police Department received a report of gunshots in the area of Martin Luther King Drive and Bidwell Avenue in Jersey City. Upon arrival, responding Police Officers found a male victim in the street near 199 Bidwell Avenue.

The victim was later identified as Darrell Rush, age 31, of Jersey City. He was found in a lifeless condition with an apparent gunshot wound to his head. Rush was pronounced dead at the scene at approximately 11:40 p.m. The cause and manner of death are pending an investigation by the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office.

The Prosecutor’s Homicide Unit is actively investigating this case with assistance from the Jersey City Police Department. No arrests have been made at this time.
