MAN FATALLY SHOT FOUND IN PARKED CAR IN JERSEY CITY

Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez has released the following information:

On Monday, April 16, 2018 at approximately 7:45 p.m., the Jersey City Police Department received a report of a shooting incident in the area of Peace Drive in Jersey City. Responding Police Officers found a victim inside a parked motor vehicle on Peace Drive. The victim was found in a lifeless condition with apparent multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body.

The victim, who was later identified as Devon Thomas, age 26, of Jersey City, was transported by Emergency Medical Services to Jersey City Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at approximately 8:25 p.m. The cause and manner of death are pending an investigation by the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office.

The Prosecutor’s Homicide Unit is actively investigating this case with assistance from the Jersey City Police Department. No arrests have been made at this time.
