JERSEY CITY MAN CHARGED WITH SEXUALLY ASSAULTING HIS 17-YEAR-OLD STEPDAUGHTER

Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez has released the following information:

On Monday, February 28, 2022, members of the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit arrested a 64-year-old Jersey City man on charges he sexually assaulted his 17-year-old stepdaughter. The crime occurred on Sunday, February 20, 2022, inside of a Jersey City residence.

The name of the defendant is being withheld to protect the identity of the victim.

He is charged with Sexual Assault in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:14-2c(1), a crime of the second degree, Sexual Assault in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:14-2c(3), a crime of the second degree, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4a(1), a crime of the second degree.

Prosecutor Suarez credited the Special Victims Unit with the investigation and arrest. The above charges are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty. R.P.C.3.6(b)(6).
