MAN CHARGED WITH SEXUALLY ASSAULTING GIRL HE MET AT LIGHT RAIL STATION

Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez has released the following information:

On Wednesday, June 1, 2022, members of the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit arrested Cashmere Mudayh, 36, of Jersey City, on charges relating to the sexual assault of a 14-year-old girl he met at a Light Rail station.

Mudayh is charged with one count of Sexual Assault in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:14-2c(4), a crime of the second degree, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4a(1), a crime of the third degree. He was arrested at his place of residence and transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility pending his first court appearance.

The crime occurred on Monday, April 18, 2022 at Mudayh’s Fulton Avenue apartment after he met the victim at a Jersey City Light Rail station.

Prosecutor Suarez credited the Special Victims Unit with the investigation and arrest.
