HOMICIDE UNIT INVESTIGATING TRIPLE SHOOTING IN JERSEY CITY

Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez has released the following information:

The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and the Jersey City Police Department are investigating a shooting that fatally wounded one male and injured two others on Saturday, March 9, 2024.

Just before 6:30 a.m., the Jersey City Police Department was notified of shots fired on Jordan Avenue. Responding officers located a crime scene on Jordan Avenue between Mercer Street and Vroom Street. Three male victims were transported by private auto to Jersey City Medical Center. Christoph Terrero Marte, 33, of Jersey City, was pronounced dead at approximately 7:35 a.m. Two additional victims, a 28-year-old Union City male and a 31-year-old Jersey City male, were treated for injuries that are not considered life threatening.

The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and the Jersey City Police Department are actively investigating this matter. No arrests have been made at this time.
