HUDSON COUNTY PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE INVESTIGATES FATAL SHOOTING OF 32-YEAR-OLD MAN IN JERSEY CITY

Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez has released the following information:

The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and the Jersey City Police Department are investigating the death of a 32-year-old Jersey City man who was fatally shot on Sunday afternoon near Crescent and Belmont Avenues in Jersey City.

On Sunday, January 23, 2022, at approximately 12:28 p.m. the Jersey City Police Department responded to a shooting in the area of 32 Belmont Avenue. Responding officers found a male – later identified as Rasheen Bostick – with an apparent gunshot wound to his torso. He was transported by Emergency Medical Services to Jersey City Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at approximately 12:55 p.m. The cause and manner of death are pending the findings of the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office.

The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and the Jersey City Police Department are actively investigating this case. No arrests have been made at this time.
