HUDSON COUNTY PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE INVESTIGATES DEATH OF MAN IN JERSEY CITY

Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez has released the following information:

The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office and the Jersey City Police Department are investigating the death of a 57-year-old man on Van Nostrand Avenue in Jersey City.

On Wednesday, February 9, 2022, at approximately 2:45 p.m., the Jersey City Police Department received a 911 call from an individual who located the man inside of a home at 88 Van Nostrand Avenue. Responding officers found the lifeless body of a 57-year-old man and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

At approximately 4:39 p.m., the Jersey City Police Department requested that the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit assist in the investigation. The cause and manner of death are pending the findings of the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office.

The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and the Jersey City Police Department are actively investigating this case.
