BAYONNE WOMAN ARRESTED FOR HUSBAND’S DEATH

Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez released the following information:

On November 24, 2016, at approximately 12:00, a.m., Bayonne Police Officers were dispatched to 783 Kennedy Boulevard in Bayonne. Upon arrival, police found an unresponsive male with multiple stab wounds to his upper body. The victim was later identified as Stanley Mazurczyk, age 54, of Bayonne. The victim was transported to Bayonne Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at approximately 12:35 p.m. The Medical Examiner determined his cause of death was multiple stab wounds and the manner of death was homicide.

Margaret Mazurczyk, age 50, wife of Stanley Mazurczyk and also of Bayonne, was arrested by Hudson County Prosecutor Detectives and Officers of the Bayonne Police Department and charged with Murder in violation of N.J.S. 2C:11-3, a first degree crime; Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose in violation of N.J.S. 2C:39-4d, a third degree crime; and, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon in violation of N.J.S. 2C:39-5d, a fourth degree crime. Her initial bail was set at $500,000 cash only.

The Prosecutor’s Homicide Unit is actively investigating the case with assistance from the Bayonne Police Department.
