BAYONNE MAN ARRESTED ON SEXUAL ASSAULT CHARGES OF TEENAGE GIRL
Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez has released the following information:
On Monday, May 3, 2021, members of the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit arrested Roberto Ruiz Mota, age 36, of Bayonne, on charges that he sexually assaulted a 17-year-old female he interacted with earlier in the day.
Ruiz Mota has been charged with Sexual Assault in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:14-2c(1), a crime of the second degree; and Endangering the Welfare of a Child in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4a(1), a crime of the third degree. Ruiz Mota was arrested at his Avenue C residence in Bayonne just after 1:00 p.m. Monday without incident.
Prosecutor Suarez credited the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit and Bayonne Police Department for the investigation and arrest.
A detention hearing for Ruiz Mota is tentatively scheduled for Friday, May 7, 2021.
