On April 29, 2017, at approximately 8:20 a.m., Jersey City Officers were dispatched to the area of 81 Reservoir Avenue in Jersey City on a report of a suspicious object on the sidewalk. Arriving officers found the body of Albanelis Vidal De Larosa, age 51, of Bergen Avenue, Jersey City, in a lifeless state wrapped in blankets and left on the sidewalk in front of 79-81 Reservoir Avenue. She was pronounced dead at the scene at approximately 10:00 a.m.
On April 30, 2017, during the afternoon hours, detectives from the Prosecutor’s Homicide Unit arrested Miguel Angel Cabrera Romero, age 56, of 82 Reservoir Avenue in connection with the death of De Larosa. Romero was charged with Murder in violation of N.J.S. 2C:11-3, a first degree crime. Investigators believe Romero killed the victim in his residence at 82 Reservoir Avenue, wrapped the body in blankets and carried the body out.
