ADDITIONAL CHARGES FILED AS PART OF BAYONNE NARCOTICS INVESTIGATION

Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez has released the following information:

The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Task Force has filed additional charges against two defendants in connection with a Bayonne narcotics investigation.

Giovanny Alfaro, 29, and Jamie Juarez, 23, both of Bayonne, are charged with Possession with the Intent to Distribute (cocaine) in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35-5b(2); Possession with the Intent to Distribute (cocaine) Within 1,000 Feet of a School in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35-7a; Possession with the Intent to Distribute (cocaine) Within 500 Feet of Public Property in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35-7.1a; Possession with the Intent to Distribute (marijuana) in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35-5a(1)/2C:35-5b(11); Possession with the Intent to Distribute (marijuana) Within 1,000 Feet of a School in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35-7a; Possession with the Intent to Distribute (marijuana) Within 500 Feet of Public Property in violation of N.J.S.A. 35-7.1a; Possession of Drug Paraphernalia in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:36-2; two counts of Possession with the Intent to Distribute (Oxycodone) in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35-10.5a(3); Possession with the Intent to Distribute (Oxycodone) within 1,000 Feet of a School in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35-7; and Possession with the Intent to Distribute (Oxycodone) within 500 Feet of Public Property in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35-7.1a.

The defendants were previously arrested on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, after numerous transactions were conducted with an undercover officer, which included the sale of illegal narcotics and an illegal firearm. The additional charges were filed following a court-authorized search of vehicles seized at the time of defendants’ initial arrests. An additional quantity of cocaine, marijuana, and Oxycodone were recovered.

Prosecutor Suarez credited the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Task Force and the Bayonne Police Department with the investigation and arrests. The above charges are merely accusations and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty. R.P.C.3.6(b)(6)
