30 YEAR-OLD MAPLEWOOD MAN FATALLY SHOT IN JERSEY CITY

Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez released the following information:

On August 29, 2016, at approximately 10:20 p.m., Jersey City Police were dispatched to Woodlawn Avenue between Ocean and Garfield Avenues in Jersey City on a report of shots fired. Upon arrival, police found an unresponsive male with multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body. The victim was later identified as Kyell C. Jeter, age 30, of Maplewood, N.J. The victim was transported to Jersey City Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at approximately 10:45 p.m.

No arrests have been made in connection with the homicide. The Prosecutor’s Homicide Unit is actively investigating the case with assistance from the Jersey City Police Department.
